Day of the Dead

It's been a week since I came down with a cold, it's taken it's natural course and in a day or two all symptoms will be gone, or so I think, hope.

I missed much of the Day of the Dead events because I wisely chose to sleep instead, but did manage to visit the Zocalo as people prepared for the celebration. Before they made their trek to the cemetery the family whose property I live on invited me and the couple who are now living under me to join them in their traditional Day of the Dead breakfast, which was delicious.

There were sand sculptures in the Zocalo, and in other places such as in front of culture centers and hotels, altars were everywhere, the altar you see is the family's altar.
