The trash is picked up three times a week, yet weeds grow on the boulevard.
There are many beautiful houses, yet in the same neighbourhood there are houses "under construction." What is meant by "under construction" is dirt piled up on the street, weeds growing in the yard and a half completed house that is falling apart.
There are no zoning bi-laws so commercial buildings and residential houses come together in a hodge-podge fashion.
Even a beautiful home in a very nice neighbourhood can suffer the damage of graffiti.
The paradox is that a neighbourhood is both beautiful and ugly at the same time. Even the gated communities where the very rich live have houses "under construction."
The communities that are not gated are still gated because it is the rare house that is not gate protected.
