INAPAM

INAPAM is the Mexican government department that keeps track of seniors. A senior is 6o years of age or older. When issued a seniors card the holder is entitled to discounts. I'm not sure what all the discounts are, and if someone would like to enlighten me I'd appreciate it.

Today I registered so that I could receive my seniors card. I went alone. I'm feeling very good about how much of the process I understood, and how much I was understood. I waited with all the other old people. Carried on conversations. Answered the questioned the government people asked. I had no choice but to speak Spanish.

When Husband got his card, he also received (or maybe bought?) a booklet with a list of participants. Many restaurants give discounts, Farmacias Similares gives a discount, but not as good as it's Monday discount. Some movies give one, he has gotten free admission to museums, parks and also some reduced entrance fees.
We just ask if we don't see a sign. Oh, you can get a reduced bus fare too, but there are only so many reduced fares per bus. It is great with ADO. Oh, and reduced fares with AeroMexico within the Republic.
That is all I can think of right now.
